Hello everyone,
I hope you’re having a good weekend. Well, it’s Tory Party Conference and Parliamentarians, journalists and various other strands of political flotsam and jetsam are amassing in Manchester. The same Labour Lovelies who would have been loitering about Labour Party Conference in 1996 have reinvented themselves as Tory Totty and thus the political circle of life is perpetuated. The atmosphere is expected to be buzzing in excitement at the prospect of a Tory government. Those in the Libertarian community are less excited. In fact we’re expecting it to be an equally depressing prospect for those of us who favour lifestyle freedom over prohibition and despise paternalistic government as another New Labour term.
Which is why I’m introducing a new feature to Liberal-vision.org in order to tackle the oppressive socially conservative nonsense that will inevitably be hurled in our direction. Welcome to “Whitehouse Watch”!! Largely because someone is going to have to call the next government out on their shit but mainly because there are not enough photos of David Cameron mocked up as Mary Whitehouse on the internet.
Go back to your constituencies and prepare to fight the government when it tries to use the money you earn to stop you doing the things you want to do! Ave!
